Tooth restorations are used by Orange Coast Cosmetic Dentistry to repair the structure of your tooth.
Types of Dental Restorations include:
Fillings
If you have a cavity, the tooth will need to be filled. Dr. Beverly and her team will fill the tooth with dental material to prevent further decay. If dental caries are present under an old filling or dental crown it will need to be taken out, the tooth structure repaired and refilled. If an infection is present, you may need root canal therapy.
Crowns
Made out of ceramic, metal or ceramic and metal, dental crowns are caps that are custom made to fit over the tops of your teeth. Crowns are often used to protect a root canal or to repair a badly damaged tooth, a deep cavity, or a tooth that is chipped or cracked and cannot be repaired with a standard dental filling.
Bridges
Designed to, “Bridge the Gap,” between your teeth. Dental bridges are used as anchors to support a crown or dental implant. Both permanent and removable dental bridges are available from your Orange County Cosmetic Dentist.
Dental Implants
Used to replace the roots of your teeth, dental implants are posts manufactured out of titanium that are surgically implanted into or on top of your jawbone. Once healed, Dr. Beverly and her team will cap the posts with artificial teeth that will look and feel like your own teeth.
Dentures
These artificial teeth are removable replacements for lost teeth. Made of acrylic dental resin partial dentures are used when you have some of your natural teeth while full dentures replace all of your missing teeth. Dental bridges are often used with partial dentures.
